Attorneys for a transgender woman say they still haven't been able to contact her after she was arrested during her asylum hearing.
Donald Trump claimed on the campaign trail that he had "nothing to do" with Project 2025 — but now that he's in office, he's implementing it.
"This isn’t about politics or policy. It’s about recognizing—or rejecting—the humanity of LGBTQ+ and other asylum seekers," Immigration Equality board member Ilon Rincon Portas writes in an op-ed for The Advocate.

The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to pass the “sanctuary city” ordinance, shielding queer youth who travel to the city to receive gender-affirming care from prosecution.
The work these groups do will be critical during a second Trump Administration.
"What I really want the world to know is that [queer Ghanaians] have no life, they have no voice,” Mr. B, who was recently granted asylum, told The Advocate.
